Don’t Just Talk About the Weather: Learn About It!
New England weather will be the topic of the Winter Meeting of the Stow Historical Society at Randall Library at 7 pm on Thursday, February 7th.

Don McCasland, Program Director at the Blue Hill Observatory Science Center, will talk about the way in which weather has influenced life in New England, correlating observations from Stow residents over several centuries with historical weather events, from droughts and floods through extreme events like the Hurricane of ‘38 and the Blizzard of ‘76. He’ll also touch on the work of the Blue Hill Observatory, the way weather data are collected and forecast, and the specter of climate change. The program will be held in the second-floor meeting room at Randall Library. You’re invited to bring a dessert to share with others in attendance.

SAPN Valentine’s Day Party
Saturday, February 9, 2-3:30pm; at Jam Time (86 Powdermill Rd., Maynard). Love is in the air, but thankfully our Valentine’s Party is a kid-centered singles’ event, so no dates are necessary. Bring your kids to Jam Time for a rockin’ good time on the slides, bouncy house, and push vehicles. They can play with friends and make new ones all while mom and dad relax with their friends in the café or on one of the many plush couches around the room. As always, our party is open to community and you do not need to be a member of SAPN to attend.  We will need volunteers to bring goodies for the party room, so if you are a SAPN member, please RSVP on BigTent (by February 8th) and consider signing up to help make this a LOVEly party. The party is free for current SAPN members and $5/family for nonmembers. Contact our Special Events Coordinator, Erica O’Neill, with any questions at [email protected].
