Publishing Networking Group Meeting 
Saturday, November 3, 10:30 a.m., Randall Library, 19 Crescent St., Stow. Vermont author Judith Dickerman-Nelson will discuss the publication of her book, Believe in Me: A Teen Mom’s Story. Judith Dickerman-Nelson received her BA in English from Umass Lowell and her MFA from Emerson College. This networking meeting is open to EFA members and non-members, freelancers, and anyone interested in publishing. Gospel Christmas Music Event Open Rehearsals Begin Nov. 1st
  December 16th, 2012, the First Parish Church of Stow and Acton will present a special “Gospel Christmas” Vespers service, featuring Margaret Bonds’s “Ballad of the Brown King.”  First Parish Church would like to invite members of the community to come and sing with the church’s Adult and Youth Choirs during this event.  Rehearsals for adults will take place from 7:15 to 8:15 every Thursday evening, beginning November 1 and continuing until the concert.  Youth who would like to participate in the “Gospel Christmas” can begin attending Youth Choir rehearsals from 4:30 to 5:30 on Thursdays, beginning on November 1.  There are no auditions and all experience and talent levels are welcome.  Anyone interested in learning more can email the Director of Music, Mike Pfitzer, at music@fpc-stow-acton.org or call the church office at 978-897-8149.

 
Piano/Violin Concert November 3rd, 2012
Come for a wonderful evening of Poulenc, Ravel, de Falla and Bartok performed by critically acclaimed piano Virtuoso Artem Belogurov in concert with special guest violinist Emil Altschuler on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 7:00 pm.  The concert will take place in the Sanctuary of the First Parish Church of Stow and Acton, 353 Great Road, Stow, MA (at the intersection of Rts. 117 and 62).  Tickets are $15/adult; $12/senior/student.  A reception will follow.  Facilities are handicapped accessible.  For more information, call 978-897-8149 or visit our website at www.fpc-stow-acton.org.

 
Stow Historical Society Potluck Dinner Meeting
The Stow Historical Society’s potluck dinner meeting will be held at 7 pm on Saturday, November 3. Historian Peter Benes, author of Meetinghouses of Early New England, will discuss the changing architecture and functions of New England’s iconic meetinghouses over the centuries.  Please call Linda Stokes at 978-897-4322 to RSVP and indicate your potluck contribution.

 
Local Author Beverly Mann Lessard at Randall Library
Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at the Randall Library in Stow at 6:00 pm- Come enjoy a fun filled evening when local author Beverly Mann Lessard appears at the Randall Library in Stow  to read from her two books Relentlessly Upbeat and Still Relentlessly Upbeat. Based on her series of published columns, the author will share her true life experiences in which fun, tears and laughter combine to make us all appreciate the joys found in our everyday experiences.

 
Stow Rec Ski Registration Night
The Stow Recreation Ski Program Registration Night is Wednesday, November 7th from 6:00 – 7:00pm at the Stow Town Hall.  A representative from Nashoba Valley Ski Area will be at the registration to pre-fit children renting equipment.  Please bring your child (ren) to registration for pre-fitting of equipment. Knitting Group
Love to knit?  Expert or just beginning?  Please come to the knitting group downstairs at the Randall Library.  Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, our knitting days in November will be the first and second Wednesdays, November 7 and November 14.  We will resume our normal schedule of the first and third Wednesdays in December.Questions?  Contact Cara Schomp at 978/897-5507.

 
Annual Holiday Craft Fair
The Annual Holiday Craft Fair sponsored by The Stow Friends of the Council on Aging will be held on Saturday, November 10, from 9am to 3pm at the St. Isidore Church at 429 Great Rd (Rte 117), Stow. Take advantage of the great holiday craft shopping provided by crafters from the local area. Many of last year’s crafters are returning and some new ones have been added. There will be many hand crafted items and a pottery making demonstration. There will be a baked goods table and  arts and crafts made by the Seniors of Stow. Visit our used book table.  Hot dogs, corn chowder and drinks will be on the menu for lunch.

Kallet, Epstein and Cicone at the New Revival Coffeehouse 
Cindy Kallet, Ellen Epstein and Michael Cicone have performed together in concerts, coffeehouses, and festivals throughout New England since 1981. Their close harmonies have inspired enthusiastic responses from audiences and critics alike. The trio sings both a cappella and accompanied by guitar and hammered dulcimer, drawing material from contemporary and traditional music of the British Isles and North America.They will perform at the New Revival Coffeehouse, First Parish Church of Stow and Acton, 353 Great Road, Stow on Saturday, November 10.   Doors open at 7:30 and the show starts at 8:00; refreshments will be available.  Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door.  Contact Johanna Pyle at 978-274-2593 orjohanna.pyle@gmail.com for tickets.

 
Announcing the Town of Stow Veterans’ Day Breakfast
All Vets, all spouses of Vets and all Patriotic Americans please mark your calendars now for Monday, November 12th to attend the annual Veterans’ Day Breakfast that is proudly sponsored by the Stow Council on Aging. The start time is at 8 AM and the breakfast will be held in the Parish Hall of St. Isidore’s Church which once again generously provides the venue for this event.  Our principal speaker this year is retired United States Navy Lieutenant Commander Robert (Rob) Moseley, the nephew of Liz and Phil Moseley of Stow. Nashoba Drama Society presents, “We Love Lucy”
The television show “I Love Lucy” starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz,  became an instant success and remained one of the “top three” shows from 1951 to its final season in 1957. Preschool Music Time at Randall Library
Thursday, November 15, 2012, 10:30-11:30 at the Randall Library in Stow-Preschool Music Time with the Franklin School!! The local performing arts school, The Franklin School of Hudson  (http://fspaonline.com/) will have teachers at the Randall Library to teach pre-school age children the joy of moving to and learning to read with music. Learn more about how music and movement can be a positive influence when reading with pre-school age children.

 
Stow Women’s Club Upcoming Events

6th Annual Stow Gobbler 5K Run/Walk
The 6th Annual Stow Gobbler 5K race will take place this Thanksgiving morning (November 22nd at 8AM), beginning at Stow Community Park and ending at Bose in Stow. Supported by Stow Recreation, this event will donate all proceeds to Habitat for Humanity and the Stow Community Chest. Register by November 1st and receive a free t-shirt! Early check-in and race registration will be held from 2-4 pm on November 21st. Registration can also be done at 6:30am on race day.
