Guest Table Community Supper
Guest Table, a community supper in Stow, will be serving lemon chicken with potatoes on Friday, June 3, from 5:30 to 6:30pm. at First Parish Church of Stow & Acton (FPC). The menu will also include broccoli, salad, bread, and brownies. Guest Table welcomes everyone, in or out of Stow, whether they’re looking for a sense of community, are feeling lonely, are having financial difficulties, or just want a change of atmosphere. There’s no charge for dinner, but donations are gratefully accepted. Dinners will be nut free, with gluten-free and dairy-free options available. Dinners are served on the first Friday of the month from 5:30 to 6:30pm at FPC’s Fellowship Hall. FPC is located at 353 Great Rd. Its facilities are wheelchair accessible. Saturday, June 4, 2pm, Chinese Brush Painting Workshop with Sharon – Local artist Sharon Wu will lead a workshop in the art of Chinese brush painting. The workshop is limited to 20 students and will be open to adults and young adults (ages 12 and up). Art-making materials will be supplied. The class is free to all participants. Sign-up sheets are available at the Randall Library circulation desk.
Tuesday, June 14 – Randall Library  CLOSED from 10am to 5pm for Staff Development. The Library will be open from 5-8pm that day.
Thursday, June 16, Randall Library Summer Reading Olympics Kick-off Party, 3:30-5pm – Monster Basketball, Hoverball Archery, Judo, Gymnastics, Bring the Hoopla, Roller Boards, Face Painting, and more!
Friday, June 17, Camp Half-Blood Adventure (grades 4 & up), 3:30 – 5:30pm – Just as in the Percy Jackson series, kids will be assigned to a cabin, engage in training, and be sent on a quest against ancient monsters.  Can they save themselves, their friends, and ultimately, the world?
Saturday June 18, 2pm,  Diane Sullivan,  author of “Please Can We Keep the Donkey? – A special Mutts Club/Muttigrees event. Author Diane Sullivan will read from her book “Please Can We Keep the Donkey”? Featuring dozens of personal accounts of successful animal adoptions and rescues, “Please Can We Keep the Donkey?” is a heartwarming and entertaining collection of stories about the rewarding relationships between humans and animals. Ms. Sullivan will also speak about her work as the founder of The Shadow Fund.

The Stow Lions Annual Spring Flea Market will be held on June 4 at the Stow Lions Field  (located at the intersection of Route 117 & Hudson Rd.). The Rain Date is June 5. The Lions food court will be there with coffee and donuts in the morning, and a variety of food througout the day. The Flea Market opens at 7am, admission is free with ample free parking. This flea market attracts a high volume of customers and vendors, with a wide selection of goods, collectibles, tools, and decorator items. The event is clean, well run, with a good family atmosphere. There will be a wide selection of “ready for spring planting” flowers and vegetables.

FLEA MARKET TABLE
While you are browsing the Lion’s Club Flea Market on Saturday, June 4, be sure to stop by the tables of The Stow Friends of the Council on Aging, where there will be a large variety of ready-to-plant flower and vegetable plants available. All the plants are donated by local nurseries. There will also be tables full of collectable dolls and collector plates offered at CLEARANCE PRICES. All proceeds will go toward helping the seniors of Stow. Thank you for your support.

LAKE BOON ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the Lake Boon Association will be held Sunday June 5, at 7pm at the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center, 680 Hudson Rd., Sudbury.

Come greet your neighbors, renew your membership, see this year’s très chic Lake Boon T-shirt collection, and enjoy photos of last year’s water carnival and walkathon. The agenda will include a brief review of MA and Lake Boon boating regulations, and discussion from the recent Lake Boon Commission meeting. A Stow Police representative has been invited to participate. Additional agenda items include plans for this season’s activities, status of the Lake Boon archives maintained at the Hudson Historical Society, and LBA finances.

Flower Communion Service at FPC
On Sunday, June 5, at 10am, the First Parish Church of Stow and Acton will celebrate diversity with its annual Flower Communion Service. Each person brings a cut flower or two to place in a communal basket. The resulting bouquet symbolizes the diversity of those present, including the many blessings, gifts, and talents each brings to the community. At the end of the service, each person takes a different flower home, to remind them to be grateful for all we receive from others in our community. All are welcome. Minuteman Air FIled OPen House
Minuteman Air Field, at 302 Boxboro Rd., will host an open house on Saturday, June 11. Free airplane rides for kids 8-17 from 9am-12pm. Airport and aircraft tours, radio controlled aircraft demonstrations, cookout, introductory flights for adults, and outdoor family-friendly movies starting at dusk. More events being added. Community Yard Sale at FPC
Looking for new treasures? The First Parish Church of Stow & Acton (FPC) is holding its second annual community yard sale on Saturday, June 11, from 8:30am to 1pm. Since there will be multiple sellers, more goods will be sold and there will be a wider variety of items than are found at a typical household yard sale. Items are likely to include clothes, household wares, toys, sports equipment, and books. The sale will be held in the church parking lot, unless it rains, in which case it will be held indoors. FPC is located at 353 Great Rd.

School’s Out…Let’s Celebrate!!!
The Bare Hill Band will be playing a benefit concert on Saturday June 25, at Firefly’s in Marlboro at 8pm. The proceeds will help send the Troop 1 Stow Boy Scouts to Montana this summer. There will be some great silent auction items, too! Minuteman to offer Girls in STEm program
Are you a 7th- or 8th-grade girl who likes science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and wants to learn more about them in a supportive, female-oriented environment? Then register now for the Girls in STEM Explore at Minuteman High School in Lexington, August 1 to 5, from 8am to 2:30pm ! This five-day event featuring hands-on learning experiences is sponsored by Minuteman’s Girls in STEM Club, which consists of outstanding young women certified in mentoring who are currently being mentored themselves by successful female STEM professionals. Launched in February 2015, the Girls in STEM initiative at Minuteman has been so popular that this will be the fourth time it will be offered.

This program is free to seventh- and eighth-grade girls in the Minuteman district, which includes Stow.
