Public Safety Log…February 26, 2014

Excerpts from the Public Safety Logs. Please note, arrests are made based on probable cause but do not determine  guilt or innocence until proven in court.

Monday February 17, 2014
10:28am WELL BEING CHECK
A caller on Maple Street reported that he found an older man,  who had fallen,  at the end of a driveway.  He helped the man into his home and found a woman, who had also fallen.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded.  The ambulance transported the two individuals to the hospital.

11:21am MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller on Great Road reported that he/she fell on some ice and was bleeding from the head.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded.  After a thorough evaluation, the individual refused further medical care.

11:44am MISSING PERSON
A caller from Hudson Road reported that his young adult daughter had been missing for about 19 hours.  An officer advised the caller.  A short time later, the man reported that his daughter made contact and was fine.  She had been in an accident and was at the hospital.  No further action was required.

Wednesday February 19, 2014
1:40pm FIRE
A caller from Fox Circle reported that his oven was on fire.  The door was closed and locked.  The Fire Department responded.  All smoke was vented and everything was ok.

5:15pm COMPLAINT
A caller on Great Road reported that his two dogs fell through some ice but got out and were ok. He believed his neighbor was using a circulating pump which made the ice unsafe.  An officer advised the caller.

9:21am ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller from Red Acre Road requested to speak with an officer regarding an ongoing issue with a family member.  An officer advised the caller.

4:26pm FIRE
A caller from Warren Road reported that there was a water problem at Pilot Grove Apartments.  The Fire Department responded.  There was no working water in any of the units.  The Board of Health was contacted and responded.  All residents’ received bottled water until the situation was resolved.

8:36pm ANIMAL
A caller from Gleasondale Road reported that a wolf was in the area.  The Animal Control Officer was notified.

11:03pm SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller from Warren Road reported that a suspicious man was driving a small sedan around the area.  The Police responded.  No one was found.

Friday February 21, 2013
7:46am ANIMAL
A walk-in reported that a yellow Labrador was located on Maple Street.  The Animal Control Officer was notified.

9:02am MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Boxmill Road requested an ambulance for a woman who had a medical emergency.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded.  The ambulance transported the woman to the hospital.

11:30am FIRE
A caller from Orchard Drive reported that a woman fell in the snow.  The Fire Department responded.  The woman was assisted up and was ok.  The walkway was shoveled for her.

3:09pm ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller from Mitchell Road reported that a family member was being harassed on Facebook.  An officer advised the caller.

11:44pm ACCIDENT
A caller on Gleasondale Road reported that a car crashed into a pole.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded.  After a thorough evaluation, the occupants refused further medical care.

Saturday February 22, 2014
11:33am MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from White Pond Road requested an ambulance because he could not stand up properly.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded.  The ambulance transported the man to the hospital.

7:55pm ARREST
James Colleton, 52, of Acton, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

9:06am WELL BEING CHECK
A caller on Barton Road reported that an elderly woman, who seemed confused, was walking on the road.  The Police responded.  A family member was located and the woman was brought home.

4:09pm ANIMAL
A caller from Kettell Plain Road reported that there was a sick possum in his backyard.  The Animal Control Officer was notified.

6:19pm LOST
A woman reported that she lost her wallet.
