Public Safety Report… June 25, 2014

Monday June 16, 2014
7:18am     ANIMAL
A caller near Kids-a-Lot Day Care reported that a coyote was walking around the parking lot.  She was concerned because it was getting closer to the children’s area.  The Police responded to check the area.  Nothing was found.

Tuesday June 17, 2014
1:21pm    SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller at the town beach reported that she saw blood in the access road.  The Police responded.  Nothing was found.

2:39am SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller from Middlemost Way reported seeing two people with flashlights walking around her neighbor’s yard.  The Police responded to check the area.  Nothing was found.

12:26pm MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Boxmill Road requested an ambulance for an individual with severe back pain.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded and transported the patient to the hospital.

1:44pm ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller from White Pond Road reported that the Highway Department had asked him to remove some rocks near his home.  He moved them the day before and then someone put them back.  An officer advised the caller.

2:13pm MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Foxglove Lane requested an ambulance because a young child’s foot was caught in a crib.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded.  The child’s foot was freed.  No further medical care was necessary.

5:37pm WELL-BEING CHECK
A caller from Wetherbee Lane requested a well-being check on a friend who threatened suicide and was not reachable.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded.  An individual was located and transported to the hospital.

5:43pm ANIMAL
A caller from Gleasondale Road reported that a beaver ate all of her chickens.  The Animal Control Officer was notified.

6:47pm MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Taylor Road reported that someone was threatening to kill him with poison.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded.  The ambulance transported the man to the hospital.

8:12pm DISTURBANCE
A caller from Sudbury Road reported that a neighbor had been yelling and was using non-Disney words. The Police responded.  The man was spoken to.  He was having a difficult time with his computer.

9:02pm SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller on Taylor Road reported that a suspicious man was walking in the middle of the road.  He would not move to the side when the caller’s car approached.  The Police responded.  No one was located.

Wednesday June 18, 2014
1:44pm BURGLARY
A caller from Whitman Street reported that it appeared someone tried to break into his home.  The Police responded to check the area.

3:26pm ROAD SAFETY COMPLAINT
A caller on Red Acre Road reported that a tent was blowing around the road.  The Police responded.  The tent was removed.

8:24pm COMPLAINT
A caller reported that two men and a female were fishing off the dam on Barton Road.  There were open beer containers along the wall.  The Police responded.  The individuals were advised of the state and town by-laws.  They left the area without incident.

11:54pm MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Conant Drive requested an ambulance because she had chest pain.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded.  An ambulance transported the woman to the hospital.

Thursday June 19, 2014
6:47am SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A few callers from Barton Road, reported throughout the morning, that signs on their land had been removed.  The Police advised the callers.

7:32am GENERAL INFO
An officer informed the owner of the Collings Foundation about the missing signs.  Extra patrol was added to the area.

Friday June 20, 2014
1:30am SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
An officer observed two men at Russell’s Convenience Store.  The men were using the dumpster, with the owner’s permission.  The information was confirmed.  All was OK.

8:45am ASSIST CITIZEN
A walk-in requested to speak with an officer regarding large rocks that were being placed at the boat ramp.  Per the Highway Department’s request, the individual had moved the rocks but they keep reappearing.  The man was advised.

9:58am SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller from Gleasondale Road reported that while he was standing on his deck, a bullet hit a tree near him.  The Police responded.  Hudson Rod and Gun was notified and advised.

11:18am ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller reported that he damaged a mailbox on Boxboro Road but could not reach the resident.  An officer advised the man.  His information was taken for further reference.

9:17pm SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller on Great Road reported that some kids were skateboarding in the road.  The Police responded to check the area.  No one was found.

9:31pm DISTURBANCE
A caller from Bradley Lane reported that some softball players were still at the field and were being loud.  The Police responded.

Saturday June 21, 2014
9:19am ANIMAL
A caller from Pine Point Road reported that two baby raccoons were nearby.  One looked sick.  The Animal Control Officer was notified.

1:55pm COMPLAINT
A caller from Barton Road reported that someone removed his “no tank museum” sign.  An officer advised the caller.

2:25pm ASSIST CITIZEN
A walk-in reported that while his wife was cleaning up a broken window, she found a bullet.  An officer advised the man.

Sunday June 22, 2014
8:26am SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
An officer observed a man in front of the barn on Pilot Grove. The man was waiting for two other individuals.  They were doing construction at Pilot Grove.

9:28pm COMPLAINT
A caller from Pilot Grove questioned if workers at the site had permits to work on a Sunday.  The building inspector was notified.  Work was shut down for the day.

7:22pm ASSIST OTHER AGENCY
The Maynard Police requested assistance with speaking with a Stow resident.  The resident had been harassing a Maynard resident for some time.  The Stow Police contacted the man and advised him.
