Thoughts and prayers to Chuck Lord of Carver Hill Orchard, who was injured in an accident at the orchard last week. Chuck remains hospitalized and his family has written a heartfelt thank you to the community that can be found on page 6. We wish Chuck a speedy and full recovery.

On page 3, you will find the annual announcement from the Board of Assessors containing information about the release of the annual property value assessments. A few days ago, I finally put on socks. I fought a long, hard battle to stay barefoot, but the New England weather, as it always does, won. When I took the dog out the next morning, I opened the door and was shocked to find that someone had moved the house to Florida as we slept. Hot, humid, muggy, damp. I had socks on; it was supposed to be cold. I refused to acknowledge it. I spent the day sweating, finally giving up at night, taking off my socks.

The next day, the house had been moved to the North Pole. I was wearing a summer dress and bare feet. I refused to change, although I did end up wearing a jacket all day, inside.

At this point I’m just going to put all the clothes I own on at once and pick through them as the day wears on. Is it hot? Cold? Fall? Summer? Canada? I give up.
