Vacation and Community Photos…April 20, 2016

The Stow Independent traveled with Gary & Paulette Freedman to Bardia National Park in Nepal. They spent two weeks in northern India and two weeks in Nepal. The Nepal piece was a redo. They were in Tibet last year at the time of the earthquake and unable to cross into Nepal. Bardia and Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve were not affected by the quake but the mountain passes and airports were all closed. At Bardia they photographed Asian (one-horned) rhino, tigers and countless other animals and birds.

Girl Scout Troop #75253 spent time picking up trash at the Pine Bluffs recreation area during the town-wide clean up. This was a great way for the girls to help their community and to continue to strive towards their Bronze Award. The girls are trying to get the word out about protecting marine wildlife through keeping trash and recyclable materials out of lakes and oceans.
