Public Safety Report… May 29, 2014

Excerpts from the Public Safety Logs. Please note, arrests are made based on probable cause but do not determine  guilt or innocence until proven in court.

Monday May 19, 2014
7:38am ANIMAL
A caller on Gleasondale Road reported that a woman was walking an emaciated and sickly looking dog along the road.  The Police responded.  Nothing was found.

10:21am FRAUD
A caller from Emma’s Café reported that someone, who claimed to be from Hudson Light and Power, called two times over the past three days.  An officer advised the caller.  A report was filed.

1:54pm ASSIST CITIZEN
A walk-in requested to speak with an officer regarding why a hazardous material collection light bulb shed was at the department and was not being disposed of.  An officer explained that a private hazardous material disposal company removes the contents monthly.  The individual asked to see the shed.  When the officer requested her ID and HAZMAT certification, the woman abruptly left the building.

4:05pm LOST
A caller reported that a child’s purple bike, with a white basket and streamers on it, was taken from the bus stop.  An officer advised the caller.

5:24pm ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller from Wildwood Road reported an exotic looking bird in her yard.  The Police responded.  A golden pheasant was located.

8:46pm SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller on Warren Road reported that a group of teens were going up the fire access road to have a party.  The Police responded.  A few teens were located at the top of the road.  They were advised.

10:28pm COMPLAINT
A caller reported helicopter noise in the area.  An officer advised the caller.

Tuesday May 20, 2014
10:52am ANIMAL
A caller from Adams Road reported that his Golden Retriever was missing.  The Animal Control Officer was notified.

6:45pm MEDICAL EMERGENCY
Many callers at Dunkin Donuts, in the Shaw’s plaza, reported an unconscious male in the restroom.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded.  An ambulance transported the man to the hospital.

Wednesday May 21, 2014
3:37am MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Hudson Road requested an ambulance for a man who could not get up and felt nauseous.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded.  The ambulance transported the man to the hospital.

3:18pm COMPLAINT
A caller on Great Road reported an erratic driver.  The Police responded to check the area. A driver was pulled over and spoken to.  He was new to the country and was not certain of the traffic laws.

Thursday May 22, 2013
4:07am MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Harvard Road requested an ambulance for a woman with abdominal pain.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded and transported the woman to the hospital.

11:39am LARCENY
A caller reported that Fed-Ex confirmed that his ordered was shipped and received but the man did not have his package.  An officer advised the caller.  A report was filed.

9:56pm DISABLED VEHICLE
A caller reported that a friend’s car had broken down on Great Road.  The Police responded.  The car was located with two flat tires.  A tow company was contacted.

11:49pm MEDICAL EMERGENCY
Life Line requested an ambulance for a woman from Meeting House Lane who had fallen.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded.  The woman had a large bump over her eye but did not recall the incident.  An ambulance transported the woman to the hospital.

Friday May 23, 2014
12:40pm ARREST
William Grone, 32, from Fitchburg, was arrested for driving without a license and for not having an inspection sticker.

3:38pm ASSIST CITIZEN
A walk-in requested to speak with an officer regarding a computer scam.  An officer advised the individual.

8:48pm ARREST
Two young men were charged for possession of alcohol under the age of 21.

Saturday May 24, 2014
9:06am FIRE
A caller on Crescent Street reported that a tree limb was on fire.  The Police and Fire Department responded.  The fire was safely extinguished.  Hudson Light and Power was notified.

Sunday May 25, 2014
8:26am ANIMAL
A caller on Gleasondale Road reported that an individual was walking a very sickly looking dog.  The Police responded to check the area.  Nothing was found.
