Ed Morgan, “The Music Man,” Thursday, November 14th, at 10:30am-Come enjoy an interactive sing-along for children ages 1 to 99 with Ed Morgan, “The Music Man.” Learn new ways to connect with your family through songs. This family-friendly performance will have everyone up moving, dancing and singing. We hope to see you there!

Author Talk: Edward Lodi, author of Angel of Hadley, Saturday, November 16th at 1pm-Allegedly buried in Stow’s Lower Common Cemetery in an unmarked grave is the “Stow Regicide, believed by some to be William Goffe, the general in Oliver Cromwell’s army who in 1649 signed the death warrant for King Charles I. The “Angel of Hadley” who appeared during an attack of the settlement of Hadley during the King Phillip’s War in September of 1675, is also believed to be William Goffe. Come to this fascinating lecture to learn more about the current historical research that may help separate fact from fiction surrounding the legends of William Goffe, our legendary, “Stow Regicide”.

Stow Area Parents Network (SAPN) Pre-Kindergarten Playgroup
Friday, November 15, 3:30-5pm. BB Kidz Klub (364 Littleton Rd., Westford). Will your child be entering Kindergarten in September 2014?  If so, join our first quarterly pre-k playgroup of the year at Westford’s BB Kidz Klub.  The kids will meet future classmates while having fun jumping, climbing, and playing, and the caregivers will have time to get to know each other while enjoying complimentary coffee.  SAPN will provide a small snack for the kids.  Admission is at the reduced rate of $8/child, and siblings are welcome to attend (at the same discounted rate).  Members are asked to RSVP on Big Tent by November 13 so that we are sure to have enough snacks.  This event is open to all local families with children entering kindergarten next fall; non-members can RSVP via email to Jess Manger at [email protected].

Nashoba Chess Club
The Nashoba Chess Club meets on Fridays at The Nashoba High School cafeteria, located at 12 Green Rd, Bolton MA.  Instruction for all levels and ages of children start at 5:30 pm. Games take place 6 –7:30 pm. Coaching is provided by Dr. Toth. Light refreshments and snacks are served. Player contributions of $2 are asked at the door to cover costs. For experienced older players, the club is also an opportunity for mentoring, besides playing challenging chess games with peers. Friendship Dinner at the Union Church of Stow
Please join us 5PM to 6:30PM Friday Nov 15th. Menus change monthly. We promise that the meal will always be nutritious, delicious, filling & that tempting desserts will be offered. There’s no reason to eat alone when you can join us for friendly company. Whether you are new in town or have been here a while, you are invited. Come alone or bring your family. Boy Scout Holiday Wreath Sale
Order your Holiday wreath by going online to www.troop1stow.net and printing out an order form and mailing your check with your order to Troop 1 Stow, PO Box 75, Stow, MA 01775 or order directly online. Your wreaths will be delivered during Thanksgiving week. The small plain wreath is priced at $14 and the small decorated is $18. Medium wreaths are $17 plain and $20 decorated, and large plain wreaths are $50. Wreath payment is due by November 18th.

Stow Solar Seminar
A Solar Seminar will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21 at Stow Town Hall, 380 Great Road, Stow, for local residents and businesses interested in learning more about solar energy in general and Stow Solar Challenge discounts in particular. At the seminar, representatives will discuss solar energy and the specifics of the Stow Solar Challenge, and answer questions. Admission is free. The Stow Solar Challenge is being driven by the Stow Energy Working Group and local volunteers, with the endorsement of the town selectmen.

Shakespeare Coming To Bolton
The NRHS Drama Society is proud to announce their fall play, William Shakespeare’s  “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”  One of Shakespeare’s most beloved whimsical comedies, it tells of the events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens, Theseus, and Hippolyta.  Our large cast portrays the adventures of four young lovers and a group of six amateur actors who are enchanted then manipulated by the fairies that inhabit the nearby forest. This is Shakespeare with an exciting twist! Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22nd and 23rd at 7:30pm and Sunday Nov. 24th at 2:00pm at the Nashoba Regional High School auditorium, 12 Green Rd., Bolton, MA.  Tickets will be sold at Snapdragon Party & Gift Store, at the door or by visiting: www.NashobaDrama.com.  For more info, please call Valerie at 978-779-0248.

Publishing Networking Group Meeting
Saturday, November 23, 10:30 a.m., Randall Library, 19 Crescent St., Stow. Guest Speaker: Computer Geek Charlie Hoover. Charlie Hoover (charliehoover.com) has been roaming the Boston area for over a decade now helping people from all walks of life with their technology needs. At BTC he specializes in teaching and troubleshooting everything from PCs and Macs to Smartphones and Servers. Boston TechCollective (BTC) is a worker-owned cooperative offering tech-support to homes and businesses around the greater Boston area. Sounds of Stow Chorus and Orchestra Program of Russian Music
The Sounds of Stow Chorus and Orchestra will open its 35th season with an exciting program of Russian choral/orchestral works: Rachmaninoff’s second piano concerto, Gretchaninoff’s “Hvalite Boga,” and Borodin’s “Polovtsian Dances,” at 3:00 pm Sunday, November 24 at the Hale Middle School in Stow.

Wanda Paik will perform Rachmaninoff’s great Piano Concerto No. 2, one of the most familiar and beloved of all classical works. Alexander Gretchaninoff’s “Hvalite Boga” (“Praise God”) provides a highly satisfying, majestic and brilliant three-movement concert work. On the secular side, the chorus/orchestra will present Borodin’s colorful and popular “Polovtsian Dances” from his opera, “Prince Igor”.

Tickets are $25 general admission and $20 for seniors and students. A Silent Auction will be held before and after the concert. Shuttle Service will be available at the Town Building and Center School lots.

Introduce your children and grandchildren to classical music by bringing them to the Open Rehearsal on Saturday, November 23rd at 1:30 p.m. for chorus and orchestra and 4 p.m. for the piano concerto.  A donation of $5.00 is requested.

Breakfast with Santa
Breakfast with Santa will celebrate it’s. 30th year on Saturday Dec 7,  9-11:00 AM at St Isidore’s Church. Route 117 in Stow. We will be featuring our Silent Auction, which includes a Bose Wave Radio III, Golf packages from local golf clubs, Chiropractor gift  packages, wine, Chocolates from Lindt, etc. We also have a White Elephant with great bargains, face painting, Usborne books for sale , pictures with the Real Santa for a small fee, Thumkins with Patty Selin, and the Breakfast.
