Public Safety Report… April 9, 2014

Monday March 31, 2014
1:15am MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Barton Road requested an ambulance for a man who was not feeling well. The Police and Fire/Rescue responded. The ambulance transported the man to the hospital.

6:56am ACCIDENT
Multiple callers reported a two-car accident at the entrance of Bose, on Great Road. The Police and Fire/Rescue responded. There were no reports of injuries. A report was filed.

7:44am SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller on Hudson Road reported a suspicious car in the area. It drove around slowly and then parked on the side of the road. The Police responded. The driver was a newspaper delivery person. All was OK.

8:13am ARREST
Adalto Nascimento, 33, from Worcester, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and for not having an inspection sticker.

12:16pm LOST
A caller reported that he lost his medical bracelet at the Stow Shopping Center. His information was taken and he was advised.

Tuesday April 1, 2014
6:42am ROAD SAFETY COMPLAINT
Multiple callers on Pompositticut Street reported ice on the road where it curves. There was concern that cars would go off the road at that point. The Highway Department was notified.

11:07am COMPLAINT
A caller from Hallock’s Point Road reported that he heard and felt a loud explosion in the area. His windows even rattled. The Police responded to check the area. After some investigation, it was found that the Fire Academy’s State Police Explosives Disposal team was in the area “training.” The surrounding towns were notified.

12:28pm ASSIST CITIZEN
A walk-in requested to speak with an officer regarding a neighbor who parks on her easement. An Officer advised the woman that this was a civil matter. She could contact the Building and Zoning Departments for more information.

1:16pm MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from the Town Hall requested an ambulance for an employee who did not feel well. The Police and Fire/Rescue responded. The ambulance transported the individual to the hospital.

3:02pm ASSIST CITIZEN
A walk-in reported that someone used a family member’s information to file taxes. He was prevented from filing his own taxes due to this fraud. An officer advised the individual.

5:02pm SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller from Orchard Drive reported that a suspicious man in his 30s was walking around the neighborhood acting strangely. The Police responded. The man’s information was taken. All was OK.

Wednesday April 2, 2014
6:34am ROAD SAFETY COMPLAINT
A caller from West Acton Road reported a large pot hole in front of her home. The Highway Department was notified.

1:47pm SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller on Taylor Road reported that while he was jogging, he located a syringe on the side of the road. The Police responded to check the area.The syringe was found and disposed of properly.

7:00pm COMPLAINT
A caller requested to speak with an Officer regarding an issue with her neighbor. An Officer advised the caller.

9:16pm SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
An officer heard a loud bang at a home on Great Road. The noise was caused by a “Speed Pass” that exploded in a campfire. The Fire Department responded. The fire was safely extinguished. The homeowner was advised.

Thursday April 3, 2014
5:58pm FOUND
A walk-in brought in a license plate that was found on Whitman Street. The plate belonged to the Highway Department. It was returned.

6:09pm COMPLAINT
A walk-in wanted to file a complaint regarding a local business. An officer advised him.

Friday April 4, 2014
7:17pm ROAD SAFETY COMPLAINT
A caller on Great Road reported an erratic driver. He was driving very slowly and crossing over the line. The Police responded. A car was located. The driver was OK.

Saturday April 5, 2014
10:25am ROAD SAFETY COMPLAINT
A caller from Orchard Drive reported that cars were parked on both sides of the road, causing a hazard. The Police responded. No parking problem was located.

2:24pm MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Johnston Way requested an ambulance for a woman who had a diabetic emergency. The Police and Fire/Rescue responded. The ambulance transported the woman to the hospital.

4:26pm COMPLAINT
A caller on Barton Road reported that he found a safe, which was cut open, on the side of the road. The Police responded to check the area. The safe was located.

4:46pm ANIMAL
A caller from Golden Drive reported that her neighbor’s dog went into her yard and bit her young child. The Police responded. The caller refused medical care.

6:34pm ANIMAL
A caller from Kingland Road reported that a brown dog approached him and looked like it was going to lunge at him. The Animal Control Officer was notified.

Sunday April 6, 2014
7:25am ANIMAL
A caller on West Acton Road reported that a llama and two goats were running around free. The Animal Control Officer was notified.

7:39am SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller from West Acton Road reported that there was an unknown car in her driveway. The Police responded. The car belonged to the previous caller who reported a loose llama and goats. All was OK.

9:44am ANIMAL
A caller on Sudbury Road reported that he found a brown and gray striped cat. The Animal Control Officer was notified.

12:13pm WELL BEING CHECK
An officer observed an individual on Gates Lane who appeared to be in pain. Upon approach, the individual explained that he was working out a cramp from exercising. All was OK.

2:12pm COMPLAINT
A caller from Fieldstone Drive reported gun shots in the area. The Police responded. An individual was located. He was legally shooting on his own property and was within all the required limits. All was OK.

8:08pm COMPLAINT
A caller from Cortland Drive requested to speak with an officer regarding an ongoing issue between a boyfriend and girlfriend. An officer advised the caller.

11:20pm MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Taylor Road requested an ambulance for a woman who had an allergic reaction to something. The Police and Fire/Rescue responded. The ambulance transported the woman to the hospital.
