The Independent Clause

You might say this issue is going to the dogs… yes, I am incredibly funny tonight, thank you. But we do have two dog stories, although other than being about dogs, they’re quite different. One is about a lost- and then found- dog from White Pond Rd. The owners were very grateful to the many people who helped search and, after 5 days, recover the dog. It’s quite a tail…I mean tale.

The other story is quite reminiscent of what happened at the Delaney Project, when there was an ongoing controversy regarding the use of the land by dog walkers and dog owners. See Nancy’s article on page 1 for what is happening at the Stow Town Forest.

We have 5 or 6 people stories, too, so don’t worry if you’re not interested in dogs. I heard from a woman who had made the Dean’s List at her school and, as she described a few of the things she’d experienced, the accomplishment took on  a new light. Ann tells her quite remarkable story on page 1.

Ellen takes us to a new hotspot in the area, The Rail Trail Flatbread Co. in Hudson. It’s apparently the new place to be and Ellen gives the lowdown if you haven’t made it there yet. And those are just some of the interesting things you’ll find in the paper this week.

I’d like to comment on the weather, but my fingers are frozen to the keyboard. Ok, that might be not true, but it sure feels like a possibility. And it’s only going to be seriously cold for about…a week. Really looking forward to it, I’ll tell ya.
