SPECIAL TOWN MEETING EDITION: Please note the Town Warrant is being distributed to ALL Stow residents in this week’s paper. You will not find a label on your paper unless you live outside of Stow.

We have had about seven feet of  snow in the last two weeks in my hometown of Lunenburg.  The snowbanks are ridiculously large and my driveway is ridiculously small. They are trucking snow out of our town center. And now they are predicting two more storms coming in Thursday and over the weekend. It doesn’t sound like they will be big storms, but with what is already on the ground here- and basically everywhere in Massachusetts – I don’t know where the poor plow guys will put more. Cabin fever anyone??

But, life goes on, and Town Meeting is coming around the corner. Inside this week’s edition, you will find the official Town Meeting Warrant, listing the three articles that are up for vote and the one article that will require a vote at a Special Town Election on March 7. On the pages of this week’s edition, you will find an  At-a-Glance Guide to the Warrant articles, explaining what a “yes” or “no” vote will mean.

I recently received an email from a woman named Lucille Anderson, asking about the publication of information regarding her podcasts of the diary readings from a Stow woman who lived in the late 1800s/early 1900s. That email led to a really interesting and unusual story of the nearly 40-year daily diary entries depicting one woman’s perspective of life in Stow at that time. Read more about it in Nancy’s article on page 1.

Only 39 days until spring. Only 39 days until spring. I just keep repeating that to myself. So far, it isn’t really helping, but I’m not giving up hope yet.
