The Independent Clause… June 18, 2014

CHANGES at THE STOW INDEPENDENT
For many parents, summer “officially” begins this week with the end of the school year. Stow/Nashoba schools are out on Thursday. How long until the first cries of “I’m bored” begin?

One person who won’t be bored is Nancy Arsenault. With the change to the school year, there is also a change here at The Stow Independent.  Nancy  is stepping down as co-owner of The Independent Press, though remaining on staff as a weekly reporter.

She writes, “With my triplets entering middle school and my oldest daughter going into 7th grade in the fall, I realized this is when I absolutely need more time with my family as their childhood is going by in the blink of an eye. I am lucky that I will still be able to dig up all the news in Stow and write articles for the paper, which is really my passion,  but I no longer will be the Advertising Manager nor share in the responsibilities of ownership of the business.  As any business owner knows, there is always more that can be done and never enough time in the day. We have hired a new Advertising Sales Rep, Jeff Beaudette, and he is already hitting the pavement to bring in advertising revenue, under the direction of owner Cyndy Bremer.

“If you are a business owner, even if you think you can survive without advertising, a newspaper cannot survive without advertisers!  If you enjoy and value this paper, please consider an advertisement on these pages and give Jeff or Cyndy a call.”
Thank you to Nancy for all of her contributions over the years and those I’m sure she will continue to make as we roll along. Although her “behind the scenes” role is changing, she will still be around and a vibrant part of the “front end” of the paper.
Our annual subscription drive is underway! Look—–> for the details!
