Despite the fact that it was 5° Tuesday morning, this coming weekend is officially spring. Well, at least it’s Spring Forward for Daylight Saving Time. Somehow I don’t think it’s going to do much for the weather, but at least it’s a sign of hope. It’s also a good time to check the batteries in your smoke detectors and CO monitors when you’re changing your clocks.
Our website is broken! Well, not completely, but after performing several upgrades and changes, first the images wouldn’t affix to the posts, but were showing on the homepage. I fixed that and now they are not showing up on the home page, but are there when you click on the posts. We’re working on it!
The Stow Community Park’s Skating Rink has now been open over 60 days this season, according to Rec Commissioner Tim Allaire. However, there have been days here and there where temps have exceeded the freezing mark and on those days the rink is CLOSED. Allaire reported that with the warmer temps this past weekend, the ice was damaged from skaters using the rink despite the fact that the rink had been closed due to the ice being too soft. Each time this happens, the maintenance crew has to fix the ice, said Allaire, who asks that residents please respect the Closed sign.
In honor of our launch of The Bolton Independent this week, we are running a special on Classified Ads. This is one part of the paper that will be shared with Bolton, with ads from both towns printed in both papers to give wider exposure. See our FREE classifieds March special on page 10.
As I skate up my driveway and enter my frozen car, I shall repeat, “Spring is Coming, Spring is Coming, Sping is on the Way!” All together now…
