Public Safety Report… April 23, 2014

Excerpts from the Public Safety Logs. Please note, arrests are made based on probable cause but do not determine  guilt or innocence until proven in court.

Monday April 14, 2014
5:06am ANIMAL
A walk-in reported that a white horse was running around the road.  The Police responded.  The owner was notified and contained the horse.

9:27am FIRE
A caller from Marlboro Road reported that her neighbor’s brush pile fire from the other day was still smoking.  The Fire Department responded.  A small outdoor fire was safely extinguished.

2:01pm ROAD SAFETY COMPLAINT
A caller on South Acton Road reported that a tree was blocking the road.  The Police responded.  Hudson Light and Power was notified.  The road was closed to remove the tree.

2:32pm     ANIMAL
A caller from Mitchell Road reported that a family member thought she saw a mountain lion in the back yard.  The Animal Control Officer was notified.

3:44pm FIRE
A caller from North Shore Drive reported that a tree went through a neighbor’s roof. The Fire Department responded. The building inspector was notified.  The power was turned off and a tarp was put on the roof.

5:59pm FOUND
A walk-in found a cell phone.  An officer attempted to contact the owner.

7:04pm ROAD SAFETY COMPLAINT
A caller from Kingland Road reported that a large tree was across the road.  The Police responded.  The Highway Department was notified.

7:38pm ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller from Cortland Drive requested to speak with an officer regarding an ongoing issue with his son and ex-girlfriend.  An officer advised the caller.

Tuesday April 15, 2014
4:03am ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller from Johnston Way reported an unknown flashing light coming from inside her home.  The Police responded.  The lights were from a faulty timer causing it to go on and off.

1:03pm ROAD SAFETY COMPLAINT
A caller on Boxboro Road reported a tree down near the airport.  The Police and Highway Department responded.

7:59pm SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller from Old Bolton Road reported that a car drove to the end of his road; people got out for a minute, got back in, and drove toward 117.  An officer advised the caller.

Wednesday April 16, 2014
4:25am ROAD SAFETY COMPLAINT
An individual approached an officer to report that wires were down near the Church of Saint Isidore.  Hudson Light and Power were notified.

1:49pm ANIMAL
A caller from Harvard Road reported that a black lab was walking around the Delaney Project parking lot.  The Police responded to check the area.

4:10pm ASSIST OTHER AGENCY
The Marlboro Police Department requested assistance with finding a young boy who had being missing for approximately one hour.  His last known location was in Stow. The Stow Police searched the area.  The boy was located in Marlboro and was OK.

Thursday April 17, 2014
8:27am ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller requested to speak with an officer regarding a concern she had about a news story.  She was wondering why the newscasters reported that the suspect arrested, on the anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombings, was reported to have a rice cooker and not a pressure cooker, which was used in the terrorist attacks.  An officer explained that the two devices were different and the news was correct.

11:18am MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from the Fire Academy requested an ambulance for a recruit who felt dizzy and had high blood pressure.  An ambulance transported the individual to the hospital.

11:40am ROAD SAFETY COMPLAINT
A caller from Barton Road reported that a private trash collector was driving up and down the road, which was causing damage.  The information was logged and passed onto the Chief.

6:14pm COMPLAINT
A caller from Great Road complained that the Center School parking lot was full so cars were parking on the sidewalks.  This caused his view to be obstructed when he pulled out of his driveway.  The information was logged and passed along to an officer.

Friday April 18, 2014
4:20pm ARREST
Christopher Lebel, 43, from Maynard, was arrested on a warrant.

6:05pm LOST
A caller reported that her son lost his wallet and phone on Wildlife Way, when they fell off the roof of his car.  The phone was found however the wallet was not.

7:58pm FIRE
The Fire Department responded to Circuit Drive for an outside smoke investigation.  A non permitted fire was extinguished.

Saturday April 19, 2014
11:47am VANDALISM
The Town Cemetery Department reported that a grave marker was damage.  The Police responded.  A report was filed.

Sunday April 20, 2014
6:40pm MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Meeting House Lane requested an ambulance for a woman who fell and hit her head.  The Police and Fire/Rescue responded and transported the woman to the hospital.

9:12pm ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller from Warren Road reported that his back door and grill were egged.  He contacted his building manager and his lawyer.  The information was logged.
