LEARN ARCHERY WITH STOW REC
This spring, learn the fundamentals of archery including safety, skill technique, range procedures, and scoring. Be a part of this fast-growing Olympic sport! Come join the staff of On the Mark Archery for lots of shooting time, camaraderie, and fun! All equipment provided. No prior experience necessary. Sneakers only!

Upcoming Events at the Randall Library IN MAY
Donations to the Randall Library Friends Book Sale – Doing spring cleaning? Feel free to bring your used books to the Randall Library for the upcoming Randall Library Friends Association Book Sale. The Randall Library will be collecting used children’s and adult books, DVDs, CDs, and audio books starting on May 1 and running until May 29. We will not be taking textbooks, magazines, cassettes, VHS tapes, or items in poor repair. Drop off materials at the Randall Library Circulation Desk.
Preschool Story Time at Snapdragons Party and Gifts, Friday, May 2, at 10:30am – Martha will take her storytime on the road! Join her at Snapdragons for storytime, where a percentage of the proceeds from purchases during the program will go to the Friends of the Library! Have fun and help the library at the same time!
Lego Club, Wednesday, May 7, from 4pm to 5:15pm – Come play with Legos with other kids pre-K-5 (siblings welcome).

Stow Hazardous Waste Collection Day
On Saturday, May 3, the Town of Stow will be offering a hazardous waste collection event from 9 am – 1pm at the Stow Highway Garage (88 South Acton Rd.). Proof of residency will be required, and a donation of $10/vehicle is appreciated. ED MORGAN “the Music MAN” AT RANDALL
Ed Morgan, a Stow resident and children’s singer/songwriter, brings a series of interactive children’s Sing Alongs to the Community Room at the Randall Library. The next show will be Saturday, May 3, at 10:30am. Ed Morgan is better known in greater Boston simply as “The Music Man”. For over 10 years he has delighted kids and grown-ups alike with his interactive blend of original and traditional children’s songs…singing and dancing for kids ages 1 to 99! The series is funded by a grant from the Stow Cultural Council.
NASHOBA REGIONAL PRESCHOOLS PRESENT EARLY CHILDHOOD FAIR
Join us on Saturday, May 3, 10am to 1pm, for the 16th Annual Children’s Day Early Childhood Fair for families of young children. The Fair takes place at the Emerson School, Rt. 117, 50 Mechanic St., Bolton. The fun will feature Chuck & Mudd family music entertainment, Baby Farm Animals, Scholastic Book Fair, Teddy Bear Clinic, Ambulance & Fire Departments, Family BBQ, and much more.
Skylight Astronomical Society presents A STAR WATCH
On Saturday, May 3, at Minute Man Air Field, from dusk (@8pm) to 10pm, come see the original Terminator (it’s on the Moon). It should be a great night to see Mars and Jupiter. If the world turns enough there’s a chance that Saturn might also be visible. You’ll be amazed by mysterious nebulae, stunning clusters, and distant galaxies. (rain date for inclement weather May 4). BOY SCOUTS OPERATION PAPER SHRED
Friends of Boy Scout Troop 1 Stow will hold its second annual paper-shredding event, Operation Paper Shred, at Hale School on Saturday, May 10, from 9am to Noon. The troop will quickly and thoroughly destroy business and personal documents such as tax records, bank statements, bills, and credit card receipts.
ProShred, Inc. has donated the use of their state-of-the-art truck for this event. The truck can shred thousands of pounds of paper an hour, and its advanced shredding technology ensures each shred is completed efficiently and with the highest level of security. No need to take out staples, paper clips, or other small fasteners. You can watch your documents be destroyed via closed circuit TV right on the shredding truck to ensure your documents are properly destroyed! All shredded material will be recycled. Cost for the service is $0.25/lb. A typical full banker’s box weighs approximately 40 lbs., or $10. Scouts will unload your materials, weigh them, and bring them to the shredder.

STOW GARDEN CLUB PLANT SALE
The Stow Garden Club will hold its Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 10, on the Lower Common in Stow, from 8am to 11:30am. This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain plants from the established gardens of the Stow Garden Club members at very reasonable prices. There will be a mixture of sun/shade plants. YOUNG EAGLES FLIGHT RALLY
All those ages 8-17 will have a chance to take to the skies on Saturday, May 10, from 9am to 12pm, as EAA Chapter 196 hosts a Young Eagles Flight Rally at Minute Man Airfield, 302 Boxboro Rd., Stow. Registration takes place next to Nancy’s Airfield Café. Pilots at the event will also explain more about their airplanes, allowing young people to discover how airplanes work and how pilots ensure safety is the prime concern before every flight. Support the 2nd Annual Play for Will Fundraiser
The Play for Will fundraiser is a basketball game between the Central MA Spartans Special Olympics program out of Bolton, and staff from Nashoba Regional High School. This year’s game is on May 16, 7pm, at NRHS,, 12 Green Rd., Bolton. The game raises money for the Tecumseh Foundation and the Relay for Life, while our athletes experience the once-a-year opportunity to showcase their skills for a large crowd. For those attending, raffle prizes include golf packages and New England Patriots tickets.
The Tecumseh Foundation was started in memory of William T.R. Hurley after he passed away on May 4, 2012, at the age of 19. Will’s athletic prowess was, and is still, on display at Nashoba, as he holds several school records in football. Team Tepper was started to participate in the Relay for Life when Leah Tepper was diagnosed with Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma in May of 2010. Leah passed away in November 2012, also at the age of 19.

Publishing Networking Group Meeting
The nexy meeting is Saturday, May 17, 10:30 a.m., Randall Library, 19 Crescent St., Stow. This meeting will be facilitated by Maynard residen Sarah Ambrose, who works for a major publishing company in Boston. In the past 20+ years, Sarah has worked in three different divisions of the core business and has recently taken another new role in the company. She will talk about the publishing world from an insider’s point of view and will lead a discussion on the changing world of publishing.
