I’m sad to hear the passing of more longtime Stow residents. Both Albert Hatch and Dick Colleton were graduates of the old Hale High School and were active in the alumni group’s reunions. Our condolences to their families and friends.
SpringFest weekend has finally arrived. Starting this Friday evening, there will be a variety of activities for all ages throughout town. Most of the events are free with refreshments available. While the bulk of the activities take place on Saturday at Stow Community Park, there will also be events at St. Isidore’s Church, the Old Town Hall, Randall Library and Hale Middle School. For more details, see the calendar on page 4 and Nancy’s overview on page 1.
And we have a WINNER of our first contest! Stow resident Jenna Surwilo will be the lucky recipient of one dozen buttercream cupcakes from Little Feet Treats.
Congratulations Jenna!
Next week, look for TWO contests and the prizes are great. Shaker Hills Golf Course in Harvard and Maynard Golf Course (the former Maynard Country Club) are both giving away golf packages. Shaker Hills is giving away Two Free Rounds of Golf with a golf cart included AND a $50 gift certificate for dinner. The Maynard course is offering a Round of Golf for Four with golf carts included. Look for more details on how you can win in next week’s paper.
I had to laugh at myself. the other day when looking at the forecast. My eyes landed on Monday’s temp- high of 61– and my first thought was, “Gee, it’s going to be chilly.” And I immediately realized how quickly I’ve become spoiled. A month ago, a high of 61 degrees would have had me thrilled with how warm that is. Even though these last few days have been a bit “chilly”, I have no complaints at all. My gardens are blooming and the windows are open most days and some nights. Why is spring so much shorter than winter?
