On Sunday, June 2nd at 10am the First Parish Church of Stow and Acton will celebrate diversity with its annual Flower Communion Service.  During this intergenerational event, each person brings a cut flower or two from home to place in a communal basket.  The resulting bouquet symbolizes the diversity of those present, including the many blessings, gifts and talents each brings to the community.  At the end of the service, each person takes a different flower home, to remind them to be grateful for all we receive from others in our community.  The basis for this service was brought directly to the Stow church by First Parish’s late Minister Emeritus, The Rev. Don Kafka.   All are welcome.  The church is located at 353 Great Road in Stow  and is wheelchair accessible.  For more information contact 978-897-8149 or visit www.fpc-stow-acton.org.

I’m Not Finished Yet!  A Retrospective of 40 Years of Artwork.
Like all of us, artist Judith Jaffe’s 80 years of life has had many unexpected turns.  Through it all, she has never stopped creating high quality artwork.  Instead of mourning what could not be changed, she used art to understand her life experiences.  In her images, Judith comes to terms artfully with eighty years of living.  Influenced by both expressionists and surrealists she uses dramatic colors and a wide range of techniques to express her vision.

Ms. Jaffe is a graduate of Tufts University with a BFA.  She also received a certificate from the School of the Boston Museum, degree program.  Judith has received numerous awards for her work and has had many solo shows in New England.  “I’m Not Finished Yet” features an overview of 40 years of artwork and can be seen at: Artspace Gallery, 63 Summer Street, Maynard, June 15 – July 13. Gallery Hours are Wed-Sat 11:00–3:00, or by appointment. 978-897-9828www.ArtSpaceMaynard.com A reception will be held at the gallery on  Saturday, June 15, 3-6 PM. A lucky guest will win an archival print of the signature artwork “Retrospective” during the exhibit. For more information and a chance to win, visit www.JaffeRetrospective.com
