Blue Man Group

The JV and V Nashoba Field Hockey teams will be hosting a car wash at Infinite Automotive, 100 Great Road in Stow, on Saturday, September 28th from 10am-4pm. Only $5/car and $10/van or suv. Swing by and let us make your vehicle sparkly clean!

Fresh Baked Apple Pies Available
Fresh baked apple pies from First Parish Church of Stow and Acton are a 40+ year fall tradition in Stow!  The wait is over and pies will be sold from the Apple Pie Stand at the church on the Common in Stow, at the intersection of Routes 117 and 62.  Pies will be available on September  28, and 29 starting at 10 am until the pies are sold.   For further information, call the church at 978-897-8149 or visit www.fpc-stow-acton.org.  Apples for the pies have been generously donated by Shelburne Farm of Stow.

72-hour Starter Kits Available for Purchase
The Stow Board of Health, in conjunction with the Friends of the Council on Aging on will host a 72-Hour kit preparedness promotion outside of Shaws at the Stow Shopping Center on Saturday, September 28th from 10 am to 2 pm. Come by to get free information about emergency preparedness and to purchase a “starter” 72-hour kit for $20.  Proceeds will support the Friends of the COA.

Rummage Sale at Union Church of Stow Oct 4th & 5th
The Union Church of Stow will be holding the Fall Rummage Sale on Friday Oct 4th 9AM- 1PM and 6PM- 8PM and again Saturday Oct 5th 9AM-1PM. Wonderful bargains of all sorts — clothing, shoes, linens, books, media, housewares & toys. Always lots of girls & women’s clothing. Saturday the already low prices will be dropped, to the floor, when our famous bag sale starts at 11AM.  It’s always fun to come & browse. Stow Lions Annual Fall Flea Market.
Matt Glauner is a Boy Scout with Troop 1 Stow, and he is working on his Eagle Project.  His project is to design, construct, and install two signs (one at each end) of Track Road in Stow.  Matt will be at the Stow Lions Flea market this fall, manning his own booth, to raise funds for his project.    He will be offering items for sale that have been donated to him by his friends, family, and other members of the scout troop. To get him started, The Lions have donated the booth.  The Stow Lions are proud to help Matt with his Eagle Project and we hope there are many others that can do the same.  Please stop by to meet Matt and give him your support.

144th Harvest Fair, First Parish Church of Stow and Acton
Come to the 144th annual Harvest Fair, Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10am-3pm at the First Parish Church of Stow and Acton.  The church is located at 353 Great Rd on the Common in Stow. There is free parking and the event will be held rain or shine.

Featured will be all types of homemade baked goods and preserves as well as handcrafted gift items and cards.  A full lunch and snacks will be served and our famous apple pies will be available.  A large variety of videos and CDs will be available, as well as books and retro jewelry.  A special children’s area will include the popular “Moon Bounce” and fun new games.  Try your luck in the 50/50 raffle while you’re there and enjoy listening to the great musical groups that will perform.  Proceeds benefit the church and there is no admission.  Contact the church at 978-897-8149 or check the website, www.fpc-stow-acton.org for further information.
Skylight Astronomical Society of Stow presents A Star Watch
Saturday Oct 5th, Dusk – 10 P.M. at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury. An exciting evening exploring the wonders of the heavens. Wonder at deep sky objects like the Andromeda Galaxy( M31), the edge galaxy(NGC891), globular clusters (eg M15), and nebulae. Saturn may be visible just after dusk so be early. Stow Postal Pantry “Share the Bounty” Annual Food Drive
October 7-12, 2013. The Stow Food Pantry receives most of our food donations during the Postal Pantry; we also receive many of our financial donations during the drive    Please help us to help our community. We serve your neighbors, your friends, and many others in our area that need our services.

Stow Garden Club Meeting
The Stow Garden Club will hold their next meeting on Wednesday, October 16th @ 7pm at the Union Church in Stow.  The program will be presented by one of our members, MariePatrice Masse with a discussion about the advantages and benefits of “Deadheading”.  Meetings are held monthly and we invite anyone interested in gardening topics to attend the October or future meetings. Stow Flu Clinic October 26th!
The Stow Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), under the direction of the Board of Health (BoH), has scheduled a Flu Clinic to administer vaccine for influenza from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, October 26th at the Hale School.  Only the injection form of vaccine will be available (i.e., there will be no intranasal option) and the vaccine can be administered to individuals 6 months of age and older.  Cost for vaccination will be covered by insurance and/or Medicare so bring your cards or a copy of your cards (front and back).  Save time by printing and completing a registration form and questionnaire from the Board of Health page on the Town of Stow website:   www.stow-ma.gov.  If you have questions, you can contact the Board of Health at 978-897-4592 or [email protected].

7th Annual Stow Gobbler 5K Run/Walk
Please consider running, walking, or volunteering in the 7th Annual Stow Gobbler 5K. The race will take place this Thanksgiving morning (November 28th) at 8AM, beginning at Stow Community Park and ending at Bose in Stow. Supported by Stow Recreation, this event will donate all proceeds to Habitat for Humanity and the Stow Community Chest.   Register by November 1st and receive a free t-shirt! Early check-in and race registration will be held from 2-4 pm on Wednesday, November 27th. Registration can also be done  at 6:30am on race day.
