Public Safety Report… March 12, 2014

Excerpts from the Public Safety Logs. Please note, arrests are made based on probable cause but do not determine  guilt or innocence until proven in court.

Monday March 3, 2014
8:40am MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Center School reported that a child had an allergic reaction to a peanut exposure. The Police and Fire/Rescue responded. The ambulance transported the patient to the hospital.
9:46am FIRE
A caller from Pine Point Road reported smelling smoke outside. It was stronger than usual. The Police and Fire Department responded. There was heavy smoke in the area but the cause was not found.

Tuesday March 4, 2014
12:57pm  ANIMAL
A caller on Harvard Road reported that there was a loose Husky mix dog walking along the side of the road. The
Animal Control Officer was notified.
5:15pm  MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Lantern Lane requested an ambulance for severe leg and chest pain. The Police and Fire/Rescue responded. The ambulance transported the patient to the hospital.
9:24pm  SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
An officer observed a car parked at a closed business. The party was stopped to use his/her cell phone. All was OK.
11:26pm  ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller on White Pond Road reported  her car was stuck on ice. The Police responded. The individual was assisted.

Wednesday March 5, 2014
1:39am  ARREST
Max Aguirre, 22, from Stow was arrested for assault and battery.
5:20am  PROTECTIVE CUSTODY
Heather Laythe, 24, from Clinton, was taken into protective custody.
8:12am  SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A caller on Crescent Street reported that an item, which looked like a machete, was on the ground. The Police responded. Nothing was found.
7:50pm  ARREST
Maura Valle, 57, from Maynard, was arrested for a breaking and entering misdemeanor, trespassing and disturbing the peace.

Thursday March 6, 2014
6:59am  FRAUD
A walk-in requested to speak with an officer regarding a phone scam. An officer advised the woman.
9:29am  SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A walk-in reported he received a handwritten note from someone asking if he wanted to sell his property.  An officer assisted with finding the person responsible. It was a real estate investor interested in the home.  All was OK.
5:05pm  FOUND
A walk-in reported that she found a Blackberry phone on Boxboro Road. The Police contacted the owner and the item was returned.

Friday March 7, 2014
7:52am ASSIST OTHER AGENCY
The Acton Police requested that all traffic from Stow be stopped due to a gas leak by Robbins Street. The Highway Department was notified and set up road closed signs.
8:54am  MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from the Fire Academy requested an ambulance for a dehydrated man who felt dizzy.  The ambulance transported the man to the hospital.
1:24pm   ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller from Great Road reported that someone tampered with his mail and mailbox. The information was logged.
3:34pm  PROTECTIVE CUSTODY
A walk-in reported that a woman at the Shaw’s parking lot  had been in her car for over an hour.  The caller was concerned. The Police responded. The woman was taken into protective custody.
5:20pm  SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
A call from Baldwin Drive reported that a man, wearing a tan sweater and black hat, was suspiciously walking around a fence, with a bicycle. The Police responded. The individual was avoiding a confrontation so he went a different way. All was OK.
11:30pm  ANIMAL
A caller from North Shore Drive reported that her dog was missing. He was on a chain in the yard when she left for work. The Animal Control Officer was notified.

Saturday March 8, 2014
2:50pm ASSIST CITIZEN
A caller on Farm Road reported that a woman was walking along the road in an unsteady manner. The car had to drive around her. The Police responded. The woman was located.  No impairment was noted. She was walking around puddles and joggers as they passed her.  All was OK.

Sunday March 9, 2014
2:02pm  COMPLAINT
A caller reported that two snowmobiles were riding on the lake. The caller was concerned about who would be responsible for the environmental clean-up. The Police responded to check the area.
4:07pm  MEDICAL EMERGENCY
A caller from Heather Lane reported that a woman had a possible stroke. The Police and Fire/Rescue responded. An ambulance transported the woman to the hospital.
7:16pm  ROAD SAFETY COMPLAINT
A caller on Hudson Road reported an erratic driver. The Police responded.  A man was pulled over.  He was trying to adjust his new radio. He was advised.
11:29pm  BYLAW VIOLATION
A caller reported that there were numerous trash cans on Teele Road. The Bolton Police were notified.
