Events at the Randall Library
Library Museum Lecture, Thursday, February 12, 7pm – Local historians from the Stow Historical Society will be at the library to explain all the interesting objects donated by the society to the Randall Library, now on display on the second floor.
Experiment with Electricity and Magnetism, Saturday, February 14, 2-3pm – Come enjoy the fun for kids of all ages, when Ms. Morrison explores electricity and magnetism with experiments using simple household items.
Science Magic! Tuesday, February 17, 2 pm, in the Center School Cafetoriium – Learn the science behind many magic tricks in this Museum of Science Traveling Program.
Live Jazz with the Parish Jazz Band, Thursday, February 19, 7pm – Come enjoy the great songs of the American Jazz Songbook performed by the Parish Jazz Band! This is a wonderful way to get your toes tapping on a cold February night.
Brain Injury Prevention and Symptoms, Thursday, February 26, 7pm – Representatives from the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts, Kelly Buttiglieri and Sandra Madden, will discuss how to recognize symptoms of brain injury, how to get help, and how to prevent injuries in yourself and your loved ones.
NRHS INFORMATIONAL MEETING FOR PARENTS OF CURRENT 8th GRADE
Students and parents of incoming ninth graders into Nashoba Regional High School are invited to an Informational Meeting on February 12 in the NRHS Auditorium. A high school program overview will begin at 6pm. Academic Department Heads and a representative for Minuteman Vocational Technical High School will be available for questions, and all are invited to join in student-led tours of the facility.

CASINO NIGHT EARLY BIRD TICKETS
The Nashoba Athletics Booster Club is hosting Casino Night on March 21 at The International in Bolton. This will be a really fun opportunity to socialize, enjoy great food, and try your luck at running the casino tables. Blood Drive at the Department of Fire Services
In memory of the Worcester Six, the state Dept. of Fire Services will hold a blood drive on Friday, February 13, from 11am to 4pm. Walk-ins welcome but appointments are preferred. Union Church Youth Group Laser Tag
On Sunday, February 22, our teens are invited to spend the afternoon( 2pm to 5pm) playing laser tag with Youth Minister Andy Edwards at LazerZone in Marlborough. You are welcome to come to our church and visit a youth group activity. Our teens are looking forward to meeting with Rev. Andy on Sunday afternoons about twice a month throughout the winter and spring. Plans for the coming months may include: a service project, rock wall climbing, and game night. Protecting Massachusetts Streams: What Will the New Water Rules Mean for the Towns Surrounding the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge? Wednesday, February 25, 7pm In an effort to ensure water is available for future generations, the state recently changed the way the state will allocate its water. What are these changes and why are they necessary? Julia Blatt, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Rivers Alliance, will take us through this innovative – and somewhat controversial – new policy, with a focus on local streams and towns in the ANWR area. This is a presentation of the Friends of the Assabet River NWR. Talks are free and open to the public.

A blood drive will be hosted at Trinity Church in Bolton on Thursday, Februrary 19, 2pm – 7pm. Trinity is located at 14 Wattaquadock Hill Rd. Plenty of parking. The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Environmental Film Festival IN MAYNARD
Join OARS for our 7th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival at the Fine Arts Theatre Place in Maynard on Wednesday, March 4, at 7 pm. With the theme “A Wild Life,” these 17 engaging films bring theater-goers close to magnificent wilderness, as well as to the courageous people who work to protect their communities’ environment.
OARS is a non-profit whose mission is to protect and enhance the natural and recreational features of the Assabet, Sudbury, and Concord River watersheds. The Festival on March 4 runs from 7pm to 10 pm (doors open at 6pm.) Fine Arts Theatre Place is at 17 Summer St., Maynard. Tickets are $13, with door prizes included.
