Monday night’s Town Meeting saw the passage of all three warrant articles including the funding for a new Fire Station and Community Center at the former Pompo School Building. Don’t forget to vote on the building project at the Saturday, March 7 Special Town Election. This is the only article that will be voted on and it needs to pass by majority vote at the election in order for it to proceed.
What I want to know is if there will be some kind of shorter name for the building, if it gets voted in, so that I don’t have to keep squishing the headlines to fit Fire Station/Community Center into the space I have. I somehow doubt, though, that my concern is shared by anyone else.
The Nashoba Wrestling team won their Division Championship for the first time in Nashoba’s history. They will compete this Friday in an All-State Tournament. Congratulations to the team and coaches and best of luck to all the teams in post-season competition.
The “old” Stow Town Hall, not to be confused with the Town Building, has been essentially closed to the public until March 25 due to ice build up. All activities and events scheduled there have been cancelled. The Cemetery Department offices will remain open, but residents should call ahead to make an appointment.
Did you know that Daylight Saving Time begins March 8? Isn’t that great? We’ll have more light at the end of the day to look out and see all the snow and ice…
