Liz, John, Michael, and Matthew Urbano enjoyed a one week vacation in Las Vegas, Nevada in August visiting relatives for an extended family reunion. Liz wrote, “We had a very nice time. The temperature was over 100F every day, with some days up to 114F (very hot!). Our family visited Hoover Dam, about 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas. We did the Hoover Dam Tour, which is a 1-hour guided tour of the power plant and passageways within the dam itself. We saw The Mac King Comedy Magic Show at Harrah’s, which was fantastic. We walked part of The Strip one day visiting several hotels including Harrah’s, The Venetian, and The Mirage. Another day we went to the Fashion Show Mall on The Strip. From left to right, the photo shows Michael (in Arizona) and Matthew Urbano (in Nevada) standing at the Arizona/Nevada state line with the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge and Colorado River in the background.” Jim Salvie and Chris Spear are biking across the USA from San Diego to Savannah Georgia in 27 days. On day 6 they rode 110 miles to Winslow AZ and were standing on the corner. They miss the fine Stow apples and look forward to fall in New England.
