In a surprise move, Nashoba Superintendent Michael Wood announced he will resign his post as of June 30, 2016. Wood’s letter of resignation was presented to a hushed School Committee at the end of its meeting Wednesday night (Oct. 28). The committee voted unanimously to accept the resignation.
Details on the resignation were brief. SC Chair Lorraine Romasco of Bolton explained that Wood’s letter did not arrive until the end of day on Wednesday, and therefore did not make it onto the official meeting agenda.
Asked if he had any future plans, a subdued Wood said he has nothing in the works right now. However, Wood stressed that, as a Stow resident, he plans to stay in the area, and will be around to offer assistance and advice if needed. He also thanked the School Committee for its assistance in his work through the years.
Wood’s current contract ends on June 30, 2016 and the process for contract negotiations had been underway prior to his resignation.
Further information was not available at Wednesday’s press time.
