ANNUAL HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR
The Annual Holiday Craft Fair, sponsored by The Stow Friends of the Council on Aging, will be held on Saturday, November 14, from 9am to 3pm at St. Isidore Church, located at 429 Great Rd. You are invited to take advantage of the great holiday craft shopping provided by carefully selected crafters from the local area. There will be arts and crafts made by the seniors of Stow, along with a pottery making demonstration. There will be a baked goods table and a used book table. Hot dogs, corn chowder, and drinks will be on the lunch menu, as well as Dunkin’ Donuts coffee courtesy of Stow Gulf Dunkin’ Donuts.
Stow Conservation Trust’s Annual Meeting
Stow Conservation Trust’s Annual Meeting will be held from 6 to 9pm on Saturday, November 14. Our guest speaker will be Jeff Collins (Mass Audubon) on “Functioning Land: Conservation and Stewardship to Maintain Natural Processes”. Retro Jewelry and Gifts Sale
Saturday, November 14, the First Parish Church of Stow and Acton will be hosting a used jewelry sale, with some seasonal crafts and other hostess/holiday gifts available. The sale will run from 12noon to 3pm in the church Community Room (use the main entrance and follow signs). The church is located at 353 Great Rd. and is wheelchair accesible.
Dan Cloutier at New Revival Coffeehouse
Singer and songwriter Dan Cloutier will open the season at the New Revival Coffeehouse in Stow on Saturday, November 14. He’ll perform a collection of fast-paced folk anthems, sweet tremolo electric jams, quiet story songs, and more from his latest CD, “Blind Willie’s Lighthouse.” The coffeehouse is located at the wheelchair-accessible First Parish Church, 353 Great Rd., Stow. Doors open at 7pm and the concert begins at 7:30pm. Homemade desserts and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Tickets are $15 in advance at BrownPaperTickets.com and $18 at the door.
Boy Scout Holiday Wreath Sale & Tree pickup Service
Stow’s Boy Scout Troop 1 has begun its annual wreath sale. The scouts will be making their way around town, but there are not enough scouts to visit all homes. So, you can also order wreaths by going online to www.troop1stow.net, printing out an order form and mailing your check with it to Troop 1 Stow, PO Box 75, Stow, MA 01775, or order directly online. Your wreaths will be delivered during Thanksgiving week. The small plain wreath is priced at $14 and the small decorated is $18. Medium wreaths are $17 plain and $20 decorated, and large plain wreaths are $50. Wreath payment is due by November 16.
“Living Lives of Gratitude,” A Vespers Service
On Tuesday, November 18, at 7pm, the First Parish Church of Stow and Acton will host a vespers service to celebrate gratitude in our new Community Room. This is the time of year when we focus on the bounty of our lives. This evening we will reflect upon the blessing of our lives. Vespers is a candlelight service of readings, sharing, music, and silence. You are invited to bring a poem or reading about gratitude to share with others. Please join us. FAME is coming to Nashoba Regional High School!
The students of Nashoba Regional High School Drama are pleased to announce their Fall Play: FAME. As the play begins, the school is in the midst of auditioning applicants. They’ve got nothing in common but a compelling dream – and each pursues it in a special way as they also deal with the special problems of their various lives …. While this is a play and not the musical, there is music and dancing as the students work to pursue their dreams. COLLECTABLE DOLL AND PLATE SALE
Over 50 collectable dolls and over 100 collectable plates will be for sale at bargain prices. These were donated from the estate of a collector. Most were purchased in the 80’s and 90’s and are still in original boxes with certificates and accessories. They are from Ashton Drake, Classic American, Elke Hutchins, Edwin Knowles, Regency, Franklin Mint, Hershey Kisses, Hamilton, Yolanda, Norman Rockwell, Danbury Mint, M.J.Hummel, and Bradford Exchange, to name a few. A lot of the plates are in sets. We must convert this collection to cash for the benefit of the Stow Seniors. Sounds of Stow Presents Monteverdi’s Vespers
Join us for Monteverdi’s moving “Vespers of 1610”. Sounds of Stow first performed this wonderful work in 2010, and we return to it now because it was such a memorable experience for performers and audience. Our soloists include sopranos Jessica Cooper and Emily Thornton; tenors Jason Wang and Eric Christopher Perry. The concert is Sunday, November 22, at 3pm in Hale School auditorium, 55 Hartley Rd. OPEN HOUSE CAREER DAY AT MINUTEMAN HIGH SCHOOL
Minuteman High School will host its annual Open House Career Day on Sunday, November 22, from 1 to 4pm. This event is an excellent opportunity for prospective students to see how Minuteman gives them a significant competitive advantage though robust academics and real-world technical experience in each of 19 career programs. Minuteman’s students can participate in a full range of sports and extra-curricular activities. 9th Annual Stow Gobbler 5K Run/Walk
Would you like to work up an appetite this Thanksgiving while helping a good cause? Then consider running, walking, or volunteering in the 9th Annual Stow Gobbler 5K.
The race will take place this Thanksgiving morning (November 26), beginning at Stow Community Park and ending at Bose in Stow. Supported by Stow Recreation, this event will donate all proceeds to Habitat for Humanity and the Stow Community Chest. The race launches at 8am. Early check-in and race registration will be held from 3-5pm on Wednesday, November 25. Registration can also be done at 6:30-7:30am on race day.

Stow Garden Club is taking Special Orders ONLY this year for designer wreaths, decorated boxwood trees, kissing balls, and door swags…your colors … until November 29. REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR COA HOLIDAY TRIP
On Wednesday, December 9, the Stow Council on Aging will attend a holiday storytelling event at the Amazing Things Arts Center in Framingham. Local storyteller Libby Franck, known for portraying historical characters, will tell holiday stories from long ago. The cost of this event is $8 for the van and admission. It is open to the public. Girl scouts Cradles to Crayons drive
Girl Scout Troop 72529 is conducting a donation drive of new or gently used items for Cradles to Crayons from now until December 10. There are donation boxes in the Hale and Center lobbies, or for dropoff contact [email protected]. Most needed items include baby, toddler and kids’ clothing, coats, new(unopened) socks & underwear, new hygiene items. Please no stuffed animals, DVDs, CDs, used board games, computer games, or electronics.
