Fresh Baked Apple Pies are back!
It’s time again for First Parish Church of Stow & Acton (FPC) to sell its apple pies on Saturdays and Sundays, from Saturday, Sept. 10, through the date of the FPC Harvest Fair, Saturday, Oct. 1. The apple pie stand is located at the front of the church grounds, at 353 Great Rd. Sales will begin at 10am and will close when the day’s pies are sold. Stow Area Parent Network (SAPN) Baby Brunch

yOUNG EAGLES FLIGHT RALLY
All those between ages 8-17 will have a chance to take to the skies on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 9am to 12pm, as EAA Chapter 196 hosts a Young Eagles Flight Rally at Minute Man Airfield, 302 Boxboro Rd. Pilots at the event will also explain more about their airplanes, allowing young people to discover how airplanes work and how pilots ensure safety is the prime concern before every flight.

Ingathering Sunday at FPC
First Parish Church of Stow & Acton (FPC), Unitarian Universalist, will begin its church year with its annual Ingathering Sunday on Sept. 11. On this day, FPC returns to its regular schedule of two services at 9 and 11am. In a service on “Finding Yourself in Community,” FPC minister Rev. Tom Rosiello will focus on the importance of community in our lives and its place in liberal religion. FPC’s facilities are wheelchair accessible. Golf to Benefit Brigham and Women’s NICU
The Midnight Riders, an independent supporters group of the MLS franchise New England Revolution, will hold a golf tournament fundraiser to benefit the facility that cared for the family members of a former Revolution player. The Midnight Riders Golf Classic will be held Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Stow Acres golf course. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Brigham. Golfing will begin in a modified shotgun style at 12:30pm, with a dinner and silent auction to follow. Those interested in participating as a golfer or a guest for dinner may purchase tickets to the tournament at the Riders’ Eventbrite page. STOW CUB SCOUT OPEN HOUSE REGISTRATION PIZZA PARTY
Stow Cub Scout Pack 39 will be holding its first pack meeting of the year on Wednesday September 14 from 6:20pm – 7:45pm in the Center School Cafeteria, 403 Great Road, Stow. Boys entering grades 1 through 5 interested in joining cub scouts are welcome to join us for a free pizza and popcorn party with pizza being served at 6:20pm. On Sept. 15 at 7:30pm in Town Building, the Recreation Commission, Conservation Commission, Open Space Committee and Stow Conservation Trust are co-hosting a public forum to discuss plans for the proposed Town Center Park at 323 Great Rd. (behind Union Church). This will be an opportunity to provide feedback on preliminary design plans, and on what activities and facilities you think should be a priority at the park. WEST SCHOOL HOSTS STOW’S RAY LACHANCE
Please join us on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 3pm, when Stow’s West School Museum will host a program about the Native American’s Web of Life. Stow-educated Ray LaChance – Pilot Grove School, Gleasondale School, Center School, Hale High School and NRHS (1st graduating class) – will captivate all ages with his stories about growing up in two cultures: Algonquin Abenaki and contemporary Stow. Ray will speak about the Web of Life and value structure it presented. All ages will be mesmerized as he also relates Native American folk tales, plays the wooden flute, and gathers a few participants to play Native American games. On display will be Native American artifacts. Refreshments to follow.

Yes, we do have a women’s club in Stow!
In fact, the Stow Women’s Club is hosting an open house for new members on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 4:30pm. Refreshments will be served with plenty of time for introductions, mixing and mingling. We’ll also have a short business meeting to project club events for autumn and winter. For 49 years the Stow Women’s Club has offered Stow women opportunities to make friends, socialize, and support charitable programs. Past activities included a Progressive Dinner, a floral arranging class, visits to a Boston and other local museums, a comedy club outing, and an annual Breakfast with Santa fundraiser. We represent all ages and backgrounds with a common goal of giving back and having fun in the process.
