We’re gearing up for a big issue next week. There will be special sections and lots of information, including information on the multiple capital projects coming before the Town at the Fall Town Meeting in October.
There will also be several forums for residents to get more information about the projects and give their feedback, with the first forum scheduled for Thursday, September 27 at 7:30PM. Information and input from residents at that forum will be taken back to each of the building committees for consideration. Any resultant changes will then be presented at the second planned public forum to be held on October 18. This is a great opportunity for people to effect change and be heard.
The town held a very successful sale of surplus furniture at Pompo School last weekend, coordinated by Town Clerk Linda Hathaway. There was a large variety of items, including desks, chairs and shelving, with most items priced below $10. The money that was made on the sale will go to the Town’s general fund. A win-win for residents, thanks to some “out-of-the-box” thinking.
And with all that said, I’ll just go back to crossing my fingers that this wind doesn’t blow my house down. Makes it tough to type, I’ll tell ya.
