What a week for Boston Sports fans and the area in general. The Red Sox World Series victory was just so sweet, both for the fact that the team went from worst to first in a banner year and played a great series, and for the emotional ties the team has with the Marathon bombing survivors.
And congratulations to our own SuperBowl winners – the 8th grade Nashoba Youth football team won their 5th straight Bowl and will move onto States. This is the last year in the Youth League for these young men, and I’m sure we will hear more from them in the future as they enter their high school years.
In this week’s paper, we look at a slots parlor proposed to be built just off Rt. 117 in Leominster. Bolton and Lancaster town officials are concerned with the potential increase in traffic on what is already a heavily-travelled road. Stow town officials weigh in on the possible impacts to Stow.
The Stow Solar Challenge has begun and Nancy brings the details of the program that the Stow Energy Solar Group hopes will bring residents on board with going solar in their homes (and Stow businesses). The more people that sign up, the bigger the discount for individuals. See the article for more details.
There are a variety of interesting articles and photos throughout this week’s paper and, as always, we hope you enjoy the read.
Next Monday is Veterans Day and we thank all of those who have served our country, especially those who were wounded or killed in the line of duty. The COA will sponsor the Annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Monday morning. The breakfast is open to the public and is free for veterans. See page 4 for more information.
