7th Annual Stow Gobbler 5K Run/Walk
Please consider running, walking, or volunteering in the 7th Annual Stow Gobbler 5K. The race will take place this Thanksgiving morning (November 28th), beginning at Stow Community Park and ending at Bose in Stow. Supported by Stow Recreation, this event will donate all proceeds to Habitat for Humanity and the Stow Community Chest. Please consider supporting this event by running, walking, or volunteering this Thanksgiving at 8 am. Early check-in and race registration will be held from 2-4 pm on Wednesday, November 27th. Registration can also be done at 6:30am on race day. Healthy Holiday Yoga with Maureen Trunfio, Thursday, December 5th at 3:30pm- Maureen Trunfio will teach kids how to use yoga to stay healthy and happy through the holiday season. Sign-up sheet is at the circulation desk.

Parish Jazz Band, Thursday, December 5th at 7pm- A local band led by Roy Miller, the Parish Jazz band plays American Jazz standards such as Sentimental Journey and Fly Me to the Moon. Join us for an evening of music and holiday fun. For all ages. Refreshments will be served.

Baby Sign Language Program, December 11th at 10:45am-Join SAPN in welcoming Jillian Berlinski from Hand in Hand Sign. Jillian has a M. Ed. and holds teaching certification in both Massachusetts and Connecticut for elementary and special education.  She will give a baby sign language presentation to children ages 0-3. Author Talk: Jennifer Zobair, Thursday December 12th at 7pm- Fans of Jumpa Lahiri’s book  The Nameske will love  Jennifer Zobair’s Painted Hands. Filled with Boston references and riveting characters Painted Hands, follows the lives of three friends who juggle careers and family demands while trying to balance Muslin religious and cultural beliefs with an American way of life. Zobair will be at the Randall Library to speak about her inspirations for writing the book and will be available for book signing. Refreshments will be available.

Holiday Greens to Brighten Your Life
The Stow Garden Club invites you to carry on the tradition of bringing greenery into the house during the dreary days of winter to brighten up your life. Club members are busily creating Decorated Boxwood Trees, Kissing Balls, Beautiful Wreaths, Center pieces, Swags and various table and home designs.  Traditional or Contemporary, Rustic or Sparkling. You can expect designer quality and down home pricing at the Stow Garden Club Annual Holiday Greens Sale held at the Stow Town Hall, Rte 117 on Saturday, December 7th from 9 a.m. until noon. Want to make your own? We have bundles of greens for you to use in creating your own decorations.  Proceeds go back to the community through the many activities and projects that the club supports.

Breakfast with Santa
Breakfast with Santa will celebrate it’s. 30th year on Saturday Dec 7,  9-11:00 AM at St Isidore’s Church. Route 117 in Stow. We will be featuring our Silent Auction, which includes a Bose Wave Radio III, Golf packages from local golf clubs, Chiropractor gift  packages, wine, Chocolates from Lindt, etc. We also have a White Elephant with great bargains, face painting, Usborne books for sale , pictures with the Real Santa for a small fee, Thumkins with Patty Selin, and the Breakfast. Holiday Decoration Sale
The Stow Friends of the Council on Aging is conducting the annual sale of donated Christmas decorations on Saturday, December 7.  at the Council on Aging Friendship Room from 9 am to 1 pm in the lower level of the town building. Come early and pick out the good treasures at bargain prices. This is a great opportunity to get like new items to decorate your home for the holidays and help the Seniors of Stow at the same time.

Family Christmas Carol Sing at Union Church of Stow
Please join us 6PM to 7:30 PM on Saturday December 7th for a family friendly carol sing.  There will be light refreshments such as cider and donuts, children’s crafts and a tree to decorate.  Together we will sing beloved Christmas carols.  This friendly get-together is suitable for all ages.  If you have not yet visited our church, this is an opportunity to come and get acquainted.  The Union Church with the blue doors is at 317 Great Rd (Rt 117), Stow. Part 1 of Handel’s “Messiah”
On Sunday, December 8 at at 5 p.m. the First Parish Church of Stow and Acton will present a special Vespers service featuring Part I and the Hallelujah Chorus of George Frideric Handel’s masterwork “Messiah” featuring the church choir and four special guest vocalists.  Additional singers and musicians from the church will participate.  All the music is under the direction of FPC Music Director, Mike Pfitzer, and the service will be led by our Minister, Tom Rosiello.  Child care will be provided for younger children.  The church is located at 353 Great Road in Stow MA (at the intersection of Rts. 117 and 62) and the facilities are wheelchair accessible.  For more information, call 978-897-8149 or visit www.fpc-stow-acton.org.

New Book Club Meeting
The next meeting of the New Book Club will be on Tuesday, December 17 at 7PM at the library. We’ll discuss The 100-Year-Old-Man Who Climbed Out the Window by Jonas Jonasson.
