Our sympathies to both the Mong and Vierkant families on the loss of their loved ones. Both Mrs. Mong and Mr. Vierkant were longtime Stow residents, raising their families here and participating in the community. Mrs. Mong also served as an EMT for the town. More information at right.
This week, we take a look at several Stow residents making their marks on the world. Longtime Lake Boon resident Cindy Curley will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in December. Ellen Oliver brings the story of how Cindy made her way up the ranks in women’s hockey, including a record-holding place on the first U.S. Women’s Hockey Team.
On the up and coming side of things, Ann Needle caught up with Matt Hoff who is on his way to making a name for himself in the film industry even though he has just begun his freshman year at New York City’s School of Visual Arts.
Nancy spoke with a representative of Intel and learned more about the reported closing of their manufacturing facility in Hudson, likely to impact Stow residents.
Several weeks ago, I was all giddy about my new matching glasses. They have sat on my counter patiently waiting a new home in an uncluttered cabinet. Since no such thing existed in my kitchen, I finally got a chunk of time to create a dedicated shelf, but in order to do so, I needed to clean out another shelf. And another. And then another cabinet. And another. Five cabinets, 21 pot lids (with only 1 matching pot), 7 pie plates and a whole lot of other stuff I didn’t need later, my glasses finally have a home. Anyone looking for half a food chopper?
