The Thai Chilli Chill-Out

By Ann Needle

These days, the couch may be keeping you down, whether you’re there after wiping out in your icy driveway, or glued to those stylin’ helmets modeled in the Olympic skeleton event (think “Mars Attacks!”). Even the thought of yanking a package of chicken from the grocery fridge can wear you out.

Nashoba Primed for Tourney Time

By Rob Kean

This time last year, the Nashoba Regional High boys basketball team was a come-from-behind, feel-good story. Under the energized leadership of a young, first-year coach, the similarly young Chieftains had doubled their win total from the year before, and finished the regular season just two games out of first in the Midland League B. And though they’d also qualified for the MIAA State Tournament, no one would’ve faulted them for mere happiness to be there.

Nashoba Kindergarten to Go Full Day

By Ann Needle

A busy Nashoba School Committee meeting last night was highlighted by a decision on whether to make all district kindergarten classes full day.
After almost 90 minutes of debate among Committee and audience members, the Committee voted 5 to 1 (plus 2 abstentions) to fund the cost for converting all Nashoba kindergarten classes into full-day sessions. Though Nashoba has offered full-day kindergarten for the past few years, some kindergarten classes were still half day. Meanwhile, the waiting lists grew for full day spaces.

“We know teams are going to give their best when they play us. They’ve been working hard all year to prepare to play us,” said junior Nicole Boucher.

With an 18-0 record, the pressure is mounting to shoot through districts and regain a chance at a state title, plus keep the undefeated streak going as long as possible. According to junior Nikkiah Snoddy, they are right where they want to be.
